Troubleshooting Guide
PDFs will not load
- Symptom: Loader spins indefinitely.
- Fix: Ensure the PDF is not password-protected with DRM that disallows modifications. Try opening the file in another viewer; if it requests a password, Ultra PDF Editor will not be able to edit it.
- Tip: Keep file sizes under 40 MB. Split very large documents using the free macOS Preview or Windows Print to PDF utilities.
Canvas appears blank
- Symptom: The page count shows correctly, but the canvas is white.
- Fix: The PDF may use very large page dimensions. Zoom out to 75% and pan to locate the content. An upcoming release will auto-fit large artboards.
Text annotations shift after export
- Symptom: Text overlays appear misaligned in Acrobat.
- Fix: Ensure you export at 100% zoom. Because coordinates are normalized, the export is zoom-agnostic, but some viewers apply page scaling. Disable “Fit to page” when printing.
Signature looks jagged
- Symptom: Freehand strokes look pixelated in the export.
- Fix: Sign at 150% zoom so more vector points are captured. The export uses vector paths, but denser points yield smoother curves.
Exported PDF is very large
- Symptom: File grows by tens of megabytes after export.
- Fix: Check whether the original PDF embeds high-resolution images. Ultra PDF Editor preserves them. Use a PDF optimizer (e.g., Preview on macOS) if you need further compression.
